In The Distance

This poem is offered up today as part of D’Verse – Poets Pub invitation to write about shadows — Do visit HERE and read some of the amazing poetry people have served up in the spirit of Ground Hog Day and winter shadows.
And if you’re feeling… brave, poetic, generous, curious… do share your own words of verse on shadows.
hey louise..so good seeing you at dVerse… and with a wonderful poem and photo as well..a sad touch when hopes are delayed like spring sometimes…still…it will come..
Claudia! And so wonderful to see you too — it’s been far too long. Thanks. I’m on my way over to visit everyone’s poems too — and I didn’t realize that cute little puppy was yours! How lovely. 🙂
good thing….we can easily fall for the allure of those memories…thinking they might keep us warmth or give faux comfort…best to walk on…
They are so tempting Brian — Thanks for the visit!
Was this for d’Verse?
Great photo — a long shadow fits the poem
It was — thanks Sabio
Sometimes hard to get rid of interior shadows. Your poem expresses that. Thanks so much for participating. k.
Thanks! And thank you for visiting too.
Louise, is is excellent. It was written VERY clearly. The situation / your message was crystal clear…..and somewhat heartbreaking. Hard when one has hopes for summer in a relationship, but all one endures is deep freeze.
it’s so sad 😦

And for me — I find it hopeful. The willingness and knowing to walk away is where I find myself feeling… hopeful 🙂 Thanks for visiting.
Oh falling into distant memories can cast shadows for a while…they do tend to creep up sometimes when you’re not expecting them… very much enjoyed, great poem.
They do don’t they — do the creepy-uppie thing so silently! Thanks 🙂
well written!
♥
Thank you!
stepping forward to spring is hopeful =)
